J.D. Morein, President
Mr. Morein has been a LARC Board Member since 1999. He is currently serving as President. He was invited to join the board after his position with another community organization had ended. He says LARC seemed to "fit the bill." He received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from ULL in 1982. He is self employed as a business management consultant in Lafayette and the owner of West Congress Lube Express. Mr. Morein's other charitable affiliations include Past President of UL Alumni Association, Past President of Cajun Kiwanis Club, Past Executive Board Member of Affiliated Blind of Louisiana and Past Executive Board Member of Lafayette Jaycees. He says, "I have served on a number of charitable organizations and proudly profess that LARC is very caring, well managed, and most beneficial to our served population." |

Lonny Melancon, Past- President
Mr. Melancon has been involved in the LARC Board since 2001. He is active in the ACTION Krewe Civitan Club along with his son, Kevin. He is retired from Bellsouth, where he is a member of the Bellsouth Pioneers, now the AT & T Telecom Pioneers. He was named Future Pioneer of the Year and Life Member of the Group. Mr. Melancon was also a graduate of Leadership Lafayette Eight and Leadership Terrebonne. He has volunteered as Chairman of Walk America where his leadership helped raised over $100, 000 that year. He has also served as Director of State Special Olympics Fall Classic for four years and was on the Board of Directors for Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, where he also served as Chairman of the Education Committee. Other volunteer positions include PTC President for LeRosen Elementary School. |

Mike Baumbach, Vice-President
Mr. Baumbach has been a LARC Board Member since 1996. His current position is Vice-President. He was elected Treasurer in 1999, Vice President in 2001, President in 2003, served as Immediate Past President in 2005, and has also served as Treasurer since 2007. He is the President of SCSI (Sound and Communication Systems Inc.) |

Steve Jankower, Secretary
Mr. Jankower has been a LARC Board Member since 2002. He is self-employed as an attorney and counselor at law http://www.jankower.com/. Mr. Jankower devotes a large portion of his practice to assisting clients who have developmental disabilities and/or special needs with Medicaid planning. A 1978 graduate of UL - Lafayette, he received his law degree from LSU in 1982. Mr. Jankower is Chairman of the City-Parish President's Disability Awareness Committee, past president of Families Helping Families of Acadiana, a member of the Advisory Board of Volunteers of America, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Beaver Club of Lafayette. Mr. Jankower regularly teaches seminars to attorneys and CPAs throughout Louisiana on Medicaid planning issues and has written several published articles on Medicaid planning problems, issues and techniques. He also speaks regularly to groups and organizations on issues associated with Medicaid planning.

Ricky Bonin
Mr. Bonin has been a LARC Board Member since 1988. He plays an active role in the Alzheimer's Association. He is currently employed by Maison Teche Nursing Center. |

Dr. Virgel Fulcher
Dr. Virgel Fulcher has been a LARC Board member since 2007. He has a family member with a disability and brings extensive experience with special education programs to his board position. He holds a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership and Supervision and is currently employed as assistant principal at Lafayette High School. He and his wife Cathy are antiques and collectibles dealers with booth space in Lafayette and Breaux Bridge. He is an active member with the Krewe of Triton, and travels as often as possible with his wife and son Stuart. |

Roy Brown
Mr. Brown was first elected to the LARC Board of Directors in 1985. Since his initial introduction to LARC, he has continuously served as an advocate for LARC and individuals with developmental disabilities.. He has previously been honored to serve in each of LARC's officer positions locally and as Secretary, 2nd Vice President and 1st Vice President for the Arc of Louisiana. He is a charter member of the local Families Helping Families Board of Directors. He is currently serving a fifth term as president of Civitan Club of Lafayette and has been a member of that club for over 20 years, having applied for membership after learning of the support that organization provides to LARC. He also plays a supporting role in the ACTION Krewe Civitan Club for which his son, Jeffery is a member. Roy is retired from the Office of Juvenile Justice where he was a juvenile probation officer. Roy's proudest moments are watching his son, Jeffery, who has Down Syndrome, day in and day out, prepare his lunch in the evening for the work day tomorrow, get himself up in the morning, fix his own breakfast, go out and wait for the LARC Bus to take him to his community based employment with one of LARC's janitorial crews, and in the evening return home with a smile on his face. Roy often states that having Jeffery as a son has led him to meet and associate with some of the most kind hearted, giving people in the world. |

Dr. Brandi Guidry Hollier
Dr. Brandi N. Guidry Hollier has been a LARC Board Member since July 2009. Her primary research interests include organizational assessment initiatives (particularly in the nonprofit sector), telecommunications technologies, and systems analysis and design methodologies. She teaches courses in systems analysis and design, information systems and quantitative methods. She has published in such journals as Academy of Management Journal, Small Business Institute Journal, Public Personnel Management, Marketing Education Review, and Review of Business Research. |

Mr. Melancon has been a LARC Board Member since July 2008. He's also involved in Special Olympics. He is an active member in the Lafayette Men's Civitan Club. He is the owner/operator of Crystal Cottage in Lafayette. |

Donna McCardell
Ms. McCardell has been a LARC Board Member since 1992. She has held the positions of Secretary and Vice President. She has a sister, Norma Borne, who is developmentally disabled and is being served by LARC in the Vocational Services Program. Norma is also a resident of the Vern Trahan Group Home. Ms. MCCardell is retired Manager from Bellsouth Telecommunication. She is actively involved as a member of the AT&T Telecom Pioneers, a volunteer program for AT + T (Bellsouth) employees. She has served in several capacities including LA Stae Chapter President. Her other affiliations include a member of Rayne Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and a past board member and secretary of Special Olympics (LA). Ms. McCardell also takes an active role in volunteering for LARC's major fundraiser, Noel Acadien au Village.

Dianna J. Perkins
Ms. Perkins has been a LARC Board Member since July 2009. She is active at St. Martin De Porres and is also involved in the Acadian Civitan Club. She is currently employed at Lafayette General Medical Center.

James Simmons, Jr. CAA
Mr. Simmons has been a LARC Board Member since 1994. He is currently employed with the Lafayette Parish School System. Mr. Simmons has been awarded the Hershey Track & Field Award, National Federation Citation Award, Southern District Athletic Director of the Year and the Louisiana Track & Field Lifetime Acheivement Award. Besides the LARC Board, he is affiliated with Louisiana Association of Health, Physical Education Recreation & Dance, Kiwanis Club of Southwest, Louisiana High School Athletic Directors Association and the National Athletic Directors Association. Mr. Simmons also volunteers for the USA Track & Field, Recreation & Parks, Martin Luther King Holiday Committee and the Governors Commission on Health and Fitness as well as Special Olympics and is a clinician for Special Olympic coaches for 18 years. |
