Employment Application FAQ
• If I want to apply for several different jobs, can I complete just one application?
Candidates may choose different open positions during the application process at the top of the application. Just mark each appropriate box for any position that we are currently accepting applications. Applications will not be accepted for positions that are not available.
• Are there certain requirements to apply?
Due to insurance purposes, you must be 21 years of age to be employed with L.A.R.C. Also, you must have graduated from high school or have a G.E.D. and be able to pass a background check. Some positions require a satisfactory motor vehicle report also.
• How can I check on the status of my application?
If the qualifications match the needs of the hiring manager he/she will contact the candidate for an interview. There is no need to follow up with us requesting a status of your application.
• How long will my application be on file?
Applications will stay on file for three (3) months following the initial submission date. They are shredded after that time frame.

Candidates for most positions must be able to pass an MVR and criminal background check. Due to insurance purposes, individuals must be 21 or older to be employed with LARC.
Most employees of LARC must complete training required by Louisiana State regulations and Medicaid. The topics are taught through our training department which is located on the LARC campus.
And of course, all new hires receive an orientation through our Human Resources Office.

Direct Care Service Workers
Direct Care Service Workers – Workers needed in the Lafayette area to supervise and assist developmentally & physically disable adults. Qualified applicant must have a high school diploma or GED and have heavy experience with patient care. Must also have a valid drivers’ license & social security card as well as dependable transportation and proof of auto insurance. Must also pass a background check. Van Fleet Technician
Individual would be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day repairs as well as data for each vehicle. Major repairs would be outsourced. Experience in general automotive repairs required. Qualified applicant must have a high school diploma or GED with some experience or have heavy experience with patient care. Personal Care Attendants (PCA) (Community Supports & Services )
Workers supervise and assist developmentally & physically disable adults. Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or GED with some experience or have heavy experience with patient care. Must also have a valid drivers’ license & social security card as well as dependable transportation & proof of auto insurance. Must also pass a background check.
Van Drivers
Drivers transport developmentally & physically disabled adults. Must have valid chauffeurs’ drivers’ licenseand also pass a background check and motor vehicle report. Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and preferably have heavy experience with patient care.
