Looking for Services for Someone with a Developmental Disability?

If the person has never been entered into the Developmental Disabilities Services System:

You should contact the Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities (OCDD).

If the person has already been entered into the Developmental Disabilities Services System:

You should contact the person’s supports coordinator at the Case Management Agencies listed below to discuss options and services available in your respective area.  The supports coordinator will make the necessary contacts with agencies of your choice for the services you are requesting.  If the person is not currently linked to a supports coordinator, you should contact OCDD to see who you should be corresponding with.

Case Management Agencies:
CADENCE of Acadiana: 337-593-8899
Medical Resources: 337-363-4999

FYI:
OCDD is  a department of the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals and is the single point of entry into the Developmental Disabilities Services System. It oversees public and private services and other supports and services for people with developmental disabilities.

OCDD offers community-based services and supports for people who are disabled through the Medicaid Home and Community-based Waiver programs.  Types of home and community based waivers currently available include New Opportunities Waiver (NOW), Supports Waiver, and Children's Choice Waiver.  Each waiver program has specific service packages and eligibility requirements. Waiver opportunities are dependent upon funding and offered on a first-come first-served basis through the Request for Services Registry. To apply for waiver or other services and supports, contact your regional OCDD office.
